Whistler Reno Upstairs Bath

Its just so much easier decided for other people!  Here is my thought process.  Bear with me.. its gets messy!  Here is what I have to work with!  (gasp)

This is where it was at last time I visited - a blank slate, with a new sleek tub added...

This is my inspiration bathroom, which I have loved from the beginning.  It is Emily Henderson, so of course I love it!  Although the mirror kinda threw me...  See my instagram post for more on that!

I am doing vinyl plank flooring on the main level for wear ability - there's not much better for a rental.  Its also cheaper than hardwood, so it is a no brainer!  And it actually looks like the hardwood pictured above...  this could even be vinyl plank!  You'd never know!  Anyway,  I thought I would use the vinyl plank in the upstairs bathroom to save a little moolah, and maybe get creative with a herringbone pattern or something.  Since it is vinyl, its totally safe for a bathroom.  BUT, since I can't use the tile I want to in the downstairs bathroom (another blogpost for another time!), Im bringing the tile upstairs!

Here is the tile people... (cue angel chorus)

I know!  I love it!  (I just hope I can get it in time!)

And then I found this vanity at Home Depot, on a super sale, with the sink!!  Its not blue you say!  There may be a DIY blogpost coming on how to paint your vanity.  Or we take it to my cabinet maker to spray blue in his shop.  My husband is voting for the later.

The light fixture from Design Lighting . I picked this one, because its cool of course.  But also because it has 2 bulbs.  Better light!

Let me give you a little tip about plumbing fixtures.  They break.  Not the tubs or sinks (although they can chip), but the faucets!  Its best to purchase through a dealer like Ensuite.  If you purchase through a big box store and something breaks, the dealers can't help you as inner workings of are often different, even if they sell the same brand!

I can't wait to show you the final room!

Whistler Reno Update - Master Bedroom

I thought I would give an update on our renovation in Whistler.  We purchased a townhome in Whistler as a rental.  Hopefully we can squeeze in a night or two here and there with our famjam.   The townhouse is right near the covered foot bridge between Whistler and Blackcomb.  So basically ski in/out from both mountains.   Im anxious to get back up there again as things are really happening now.  We would like to have it ready to rent in the middle of November!  I gotta get my butt in gear!

This is a picture of the inspiration for the master bedroom.  I was able to get quite a few awesome pieces for this room to start, but now Im a bit stumped.  I was going to bring our bed from home for this room, but Im feeling now that it is just not the right size.  So we are back at square one with that decision.  You'll have to stay tuned to see what I decide.

This is what the room looked like when we purchased the townhouse.  Do you think I can make it cozy and lovely like the picture above??

And this is what it looks like right now....  Should the toilet stay?  Its convenient!

The garbage is a nice touch!

Here is what I have purchased so far.  At the end of the summer I completely scored multiple times at Homesense.  This chandelier was $179!  The rug could be my favorite purchase so far.  You can get it here from Target!  The cream bedding is from Target as well.  But everything else... HOMESENSE!

This week Ive got to get all the flooring decided on, and then tile!  Can't wait to show you more!
